Dr. Diana E. Clemons, a visionary is no stranger to the Kansas City metropolitan community when it comes to organizing, planning and implementing a variety of programs in the Greater Kansas City area. For approximately 25 years, she has been known as a leader in the community, as an entrepreneur, ordained minister, program coordinator/events consultant, certified abstinence facilitator, motivational speaker, mentor, career coach, event promoter, media marketing/public relations coordinator, certified mental health first aid instructor, offender workforce development specialist and True Colors™ Instructor.
Dr. Clemons, the Executive Director and founder of Future Leaders Outreach Network (FLON), founded in 1996 and incorporated in 1999, is a faith and community based organization under the umbrella of Kingsway’s International Ministries. Dr. Clemons, an Evangelist called to the ministry in 1996 teaches and preaches the Word of God at the church she attends, Greater Pentecostal Temple under the leadership and covering of Bishop Marvin Donaldson and at the Kansas correctional facilities and other churches locally and in other States. The secular outreach program activities are implemented in the schools and community based organizations.
During years 1999 – 2010, FLON was awarded $250,000.00 in grants and contributions from local corporations, city and local government and federal grants and contracts totaling $8.1 million from the Department of Health and Human Services. Under the leadership of Dr. Clemons, the Pursue Your Dreams (PYD) and Parents Abstinence and Family Values (PAFV) were implemented in targeted communities, which included Kansas City Kansas, Kansas City MO, Atlanta, GA, Baltimore, MD, Brooklyn, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Arlington TX, Ft. Worth, TX and Washington, DC. To date approximately 316,465 people have attended various educational and community events. Of the 316,465 approximately 303,250 were teens and young adults and 13,215 were parents and caregivers.
Since 2003, Dr. Clemons has conducted non-profit grant writing workshops, organizational capacity building seminars to approximately 225 organizations, leadership development training to approximately 25 faith and community based organizations and one-on-one mentoring to approximately 20 Executive Directors.
Dr. Clemons was appointed as a biographical candidate to represent Kansas City, MO. for the Empire Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals. She was also appointed in 2003 to serve on the US Department of Health and Human Services National Expert Panel for Community Based Abstinence Education, in 2005 was appointed to serve on the National Abstinence Media Campaign Expert Panel, both located in Washington, DC, in 2006 received the Pat Driscoll/Molly Kelly Award (A Pioneer In The Field of Abstinence) and was appointed in 2006 as an Advisory member on the National Abstinence Education Association (NAEA). Most recently, Dr. Clemons was accepted to be a part of the mentoring program of Dr. Myles Munroe, founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI). Dr. Clemons is the author of two (2) career planning workbook journals and author of the Pursue Your Dreams manuscript published in the 2011 American Journal of Health Studies.
